Notice to our customers: The United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) has announced a phase-out agreement with the two U.S. manufacturers and the primary U.S. importer of the flame retardant decabromodiphenyl ether (DecaBDE) by the end of 2013. DecaBDE has been one of the world's most widely used fire retardants for electronics, textiles, wire insulation and other aerospace components. Acme Mills and the extended Acme Group of companies including Fairway Products and Great Lakes Filters, are committed to adhering to this mandate and are developing alternatives to DecaBDE in our flame-retardant applications. We welcome the chance to help transition our customers into other alternatives including new, effective, innovative products. The Acme Group is currently preparing to launch a number of certified sustainable products within the next few months. Additionally, we are hard at work developing new products to continue to expand our eco-friendly offerings in the not so distant future. We are very excited to take this next ‘green’ step with our customers.
